This utility erosion and sediment control program meets the delegation of authority standards set forth by the Maryland Department of the Environment in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 26.17.01.03. The program is designed to protect, maintain and enhance the public health, safety and general welfare by establishing minimum requirements and procedures to control accelerated soil erosion and sedimentation resulting from underground utility construction in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. Minimizing soil erosion and off-site sedimentation will minimize damage to public and private property, and assist in the attainment and maintenance of water quality standards.
