(a) WSSC shall implement and maintain a mentor-protege program to further the development of SLBEs.

(b) WSSC shall develop incentives for businesses to mentor SLBEs to gain experience, contacts and resources necessary to compete for contracts.

(c) Any mentor-protege relationship shall be based on a written development plan, approved by WSSC’s SLMBE Office, which sets forth the objectives of the parties and their respective roles, the duration of the arrangement and the services and resources to be provided by the mentor to the protege.

(d) SLBEs involved in a written mentor-protege development plan must be approved in the SLBE program prior to entering into this development opportunity.

(e) WSSC’s SLMBE Office shall monitor these mentor-protege relationships with the full support of the appropriate WSSC personnel. (REG-PROC-SD-2017-005 § V(B))
