The more common events that result in property reclassifications are:

(a) Plat of subdivision is recorded against a property;

(b) Property split or combination by deed is recorded;

(c) Change in ownership from a private entity to government agency or vice versa;

(d) An error or oversight is discovered in the property’s initial classification. (Property assessments manual § 11.1, dated October 1998)
