(a) There are two limits of WSSC maintenance responsibility for the plumbing and electrical portion of the systems. The first limit pertains to the WSSC grinder systems in the special service areas which are listed on Attachment No. 1. On-site grinder pumps are shown on Attachment No. 2. The house connection records for the houses in these areas will identify them as grinder pump systems maintained by the Commission. Usually, the WSSC maintenance responsibility for the plumbing portion of the system will start with the house side of the ball valve located next to the grinder pump as shown on attached Sketch No. 1. The responsibility for the electrical portion will start with the pump sub-panel as shown on attached Sketch No. 2. All plumbing and electrical on the house side of these points will be the responsibility of the property owner.

(b) The second limit of WSSC maintenance responsibility pertains to all other grinder pump systems. The WSSC maintenance responsibility for the plumbing portion of the system will start at the house side union by the check valve at the property line as shown on Standard Detail PS/1.1. The Commission does not maintain any of the electrical system on these grinder pump systems. The property owner is responsible for the entire electrical system and the plumbing systems on the house side of the check valve at the property line.
