2.55.090 Oaths, depositions, and subpoenas.
This section is included in your selections.
(a) The Inspector General, or a staff member authorized by the Inspector General, may, if necessary in performing the duties under the Public Utilities Article, Title 17, Subtitle 6, Annotated Code of Maryland:
(1) Administer oaths or affirmations; and
(2) Take affidavits or depositions.
(b) The Inspector General may subpoena any person or evidence for the purposes of investigating fraud, waste, or abuse within the Commission.
(c) If a person fails to comply with a lawful order or subpoena issued by the Inspector General, on petition of the Inspector General, a court of competent jurisdiction may compel:
(1) Compliance with the order or subpoena; or
(2) Testimony or the production of evidence. (Document dated July 1, 2020)
